温室气体监测是很有意义的一项工作。本周三，Picarro公司赢得了Earth Networks一笔100套温室气体分析仪的订单，价值 $500万。“这是我们公司历史上最大的一笔订单！ ”Picarro公司CEO Michael Woelk如此说到。

       AWS Convergence Technologies就在周三改名为Earth Networks，与Picarro签订下100套的订单，这批仪器将分布在欧洲及世界各地。并计划在未来5年继续投资 $2500万，其中包括用于美国本土的50套仪器。

       Picarro分析仪采用光腔衰荡光谱（cavity ring-down spectroscopy）技术，能够准确地分析和测定温室气体（比如CO₂和CH₄）浓度，，“精确度确保在ppb级“，Woelk说。

       与之前通过化学燃料燃烧来估算碳排放量不同，如此高精度仪器的应用能够对排放估算进行确切的定量分析，将会在这一领域得到政府和企业越来越多的重视。“无论是面向科学还是政治，都需要我们能够提供准确无误的数据。”Woelk说。

       目前，Picarro客户遍及50多个国家和地区，包括加利福尼亚大气资源局，斯坦福大学，各类冶炼公司，世界气象组织和中国政府部门。德克萨斯州的废物处理公司正在使用Picarro的甲烷分析仪来监测垃圾掩埋场的排放。Picarro分析仪还被应用于检测墨西哥湾漏油事件后该地区的甲烷含量。更多应用可参考Picarro官网：www.picarro.com

       由于客户需求越来越多，Picarro公司在2011年迁往Santa Clara，将拥有占地56000平米的生产工厂，生产能力将进一步提高，员工也将在未来一年扩张至目前70多人的两倍多。
