The PRI-8601 Plus Smart Chamber (Patent Pending) utilizes a multi-sensor fusion architecture, combined with active drainage and gas delivery, as well as an enhanced multi-level waterproof protection mechanism. It is designed to work in conjunction with gas concentration and isotope analyzers employing spectral absorption technology, enabling portable measurement of soil and water surface gas fluxes. The PRI-8601 Plus features a water-gas separation module, which facilitates primary active drainage and gas delivery. Additionally, it includes a two-stage water-blocking device that actively prevents water ingress while swiftly disconnecting the gas path between the chamber and the analyzer, ensuring three-level waterproof protection.
This Smart Chamber connects two gas analyzers via an integrated gas-electrical aviation plug. It is powered by a built-in high-density battery, facilitating autonomous operation of the chamber, including chamber movement and data collection of soil temperature, humidity, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, GPS/BDS, and external gas analyzers. Through Wi-Fi connectivity to a tablet or smartphone, the system enables real-time data display and instantaneous gas flux calculations.
The PRI-8601 Plus Smart Chamber features a cylindrical design, a patented pressure vent (ZL201420354126.4), a gradual air mixing and sampling mechanism, and a scientifically calibrated chamber driving speed. These features minimize the negative impact of pressure changes between the inside and outside of the chamber, as well as boundary layer disturbances, on flux measurements. This system is widely applicable to water-air interface flux studies in environments prone to water ingress, such as oceans, lakes, reservoirs, and wetlands. It is also suitable for traditional soil gas flux research.
